 Mr. Abdul Hameed Khan, the Visionary & forefather of Vatan, a
master weaver himself, brought this craft to Aurangabad in western
part of India, the seat of medieval art and culture. Little did he
knew about his inbuilt talent and created a revolution pioneering a
huge textiles industry.
Mr. Hasan Khan, who inherited his father's vision took the enterprise
further and blended the silks with local choice to produce the finest
fabric as Aurangabad Silk and Himroo Shawls and Throws.
The fabric became legendary and pride of Indian Textiles.
The ball set rolling from then and starting with a few handlooms
the business bloomed today to a fleet of modern jacquard machines.
From handfuls to today's gigantic fleet of 400 artisans and workers
and the number just keeps growing. From a few hundred yards of silk
and other fabric, to today's eight hundred thousand meters of fabric
every year.
Today Vatan is a team of young technosavvy and quality conscious
people and is headed by Mr. Rafeeq Ahmed, a qualified and renown
textile technologist and the guiding light of Vatan.
